Senior Capital Raising Sales - Alternative Investments Public & Private (Placement Agent) Job at Thalēs, New York, NY

  • Thalēs
  • New York, NY

Job Description

Thalēs Capital Strategies

New York City | Hybrid (3-4 days in-office)

Position Overview

Thales Capital Partners is a New York-based, SEC-registered broker-dealer and CFTC introducing broker. We are a placement agent and capital advisory firm for a selective roster of alternative investment managers in hedge funds, private credit, private equity, and infrastructure. Our network spans regions, including deep relationships with international counterparts.

We're hiring an experienced capital raiser for the Capital Strategies team. This is a senior, hands-on seat on a small team, so your relationships, judgment, and output carry real weight from day one. You'll raise capital for our fund partners, bring managers onto the platform, and help shape how the desk grows. If you've built a real institutional network and you want room to run without the drag of a large bureaucracy, this is that seat.

Compensation is success-based and uncapped. You earn a base salary plus formula-driven profit-sharing on the capital you raise, both for existing clients and for managers you bring to the platform. Strong producers do very well here.

Responsibilities

  • Raise capital from institutional investors by leveraging your established relationships across regions and strategies, expanding our reach for Thales’ fund partners.
  • Build and deepen relationships with endowments, foundations, family offices, pensions, consultants, sovereign wealth funds, and asset managers.
  • Source new alternative investment managers for the Thales roster, subject to our selection process.
  • Work closely with the internal team to execute fundraising strategies end-to-end.
  • Partner with clients over the long term, aligning with their growth and contributing to their success.
  • Help plan investor events, virtual conferences, and bespoke engagements.
  • Bring clients useful market insight and work with marketing to shape research content that lands.

Requirements

  • 6 to 10 years in capital raising, hedge funds, private credit, or other alternative assets.
  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63, active or ready to transfer.
  • An extensive institutional investor network and a working command of alternative strategies across public and private markets.
  • Comfort with the tools we run on: Google Workspace, a CRM (HubSpot or similar), Notion, and AI tools (OpenAI, Anthropic, and purpose-built internal tools).

Preferred Qualities

  • Overlapping relationships with the Capital Strategies team, for example, a strong shared network with the hiring manager, David Modiano.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-directed, and results-driven.
  • A collaborative teammate who uses technology to work smarter.
  • Sharp communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Adaptable and detail-oriented, with a process behind the hustle.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Thalēs offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.
  • Significant profit-sharing potential tied to capital raised and new client acquisition.
  • Base current estimated range: $125,000 to $150,000, based on experience, skills, licensing, and business needs.
  • A competitive benefits package.

Additional Information

  • New York residency required. Hybrid schedule: 3 to 4 days in-office.
  • Some business travel.
  • Open now, with a flexible start.
  • To apply, send your resume and references. Writing samples are welcome.

Equal Opportunity

Thales Capital Partners is an equal-opportunity employer. All qualified applicants receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, veteran status, or disability.
